Canadian University Dubai scholarships

The Canadian University Dubai, or CUD is a private university located in the UAE and founded in the year 2006. The Canadian University Dubai offers education based on the Canadian curriculum and offers multiple scholarships (Both for undergraduate and graduates) annually to allow their students to study without any financial limitations. Additionally, to encourage difference and diversity and reward high academic achievers, CUD offers the following scholarships: 

Undergraduate scholarships

  1. Academic Excellence scholarship
    • To be considered eligible for the Academic Excellence Scholarship, students need to be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours
    • 50% tuition waiver
  2. Schools MoU scholarship
    • The Corporate partner scholarship is applicable only on the first academic year. In the subsequent years, students may qualify for applicable scholarships and fee reductions
    • 20% scholarship on tuition fees
  3. Sports scholarship
    • Talented athletes from any sport who have competed and achieved success at least at a city level.
    • A tuition waiver of up to 40%.
  4. Financial Hardship scholarship
    • Tuition waiver of up-to 40% can be applied as evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
    • Financial Hardship Scholarships are valid for one semester only but can be renewed by the student each semester.
  5. Special Needs scholarship
    • Students are required to provide an up-to-date professionally documented diagnosis that will be kept confidentially
    • A tuition fee reduction of 40%.
  6. Special Talent scholarship
    • Elite and talented individuals from any field who have competed and achieved success at a city level or beyond.
    • Successful applicants will be required to contribute up to 15 hours per month of community service as part of their commitment to the University.
    • A tuition waiver of up to 40%.

Graduate scholarship

  1. Study scholarship
    • This scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students.
    • Students must register for a minimum of 2 courses or 06 credit hours in the Summer 2024-25 semester.
    • Students must register for a minimum of 4 courses or 12 credit hours in the Fall 2025-26 semester.
    • Fee reduction is applicable towards the credit courses only and is not applicable to non-credit courses and incidental fees.

Eligibility

On top of the specific requirements for each individual scholarship, these are the general criteria upon an applicant is eligible to apply:

  • Scholarships are open to all students of any citizenship who have met all the admission requirements.
  • Scholarships are awarded to full-time students enrolled in four academic courses or more per semester.
  • For Financial Hardship and Special Needs Scholarships, the number of academic courses students must enroll in will be considered on a case-by-case basis, although, where possible, a minimum of four academic courses is recommended. Please note that scholarships can be granted for credit-bearing courses only.
  • Students must maintain the cumulative grade point average (CGPA) necessary in order to continue receiving scholarship funding.
  • Scholarships are not valid for summer semesters.
  • Scholarships are only valid for current tuition fees.
  • Students can apply for more than one scholarship, provided they meet the eligibility requirements. In case a student qualifies for more than one reduction, scholarship or discount, the student will be given the chance to choose the scholarship with the highest value.
  • All remaining fees (tuition and housing) must be paid promptly in order to receive and maintain the scholarship.

How to apply

Applicants must email their scholarship application forms (or visit the scholarship section of Student Affairs), along with all supporting documents (as detailed in the relevant sections of the different scholarship types) to scholarship@cud.ac.ae

Application deadline

The deadline for each scholarship depends on the semester the applicant is going for.

  • Fall semester: July 7th.
  • Spring semester: December 20th.
