Twice a year, Chermol & Fishman will host an essay contest to determine the recipient of the prestigious Chermol & Fishman semi-annual college scholarship opportunity. Eligibility is extended to all individuals currently enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited U.S. college or university, irrespective of academic level. Community college and graduate students are warmly invited to participate alongside undergraduates.

While the grand prize amounts to $1000, runners-up will also be recognized, with second and third place recipients receiving $750 and $500, respectively.

“Laws are intended to create a structure for society to achieve equality for all of its citizens.  Sometimes those laws fail to achieve this goal.  Provide contemporary examples and explore the societal structures, systems, and practices that are in place to handle the times in which laws fail to promote equality.”

Submission guidelines for the Chermol & Fishman semi-annual college scholarship

Essays must adhere to a minimum word count of 500 and a maximum of 800 words, with emphasis placed on quality over quantity. All submissions must be original works, with proper citations following MLA formatting guidelines. Plagiarism will result in disqualification and future contest exclusion.
