The Christopher Kolade Foundation (CKF) SHE Soars Program makes post-secondary education possible for girls from lower-income families by offering a generous amount of ₦300,000 per year. This scholarship is open to public secondary school graduates with prove of admission letter to any Nigerian university.
It was launched in 2019, with the purpose of providing need-based financial sponsorship to female graduates of Nigerian public secondary schools and matching the girls with successful career and business women for mentorship. The sponsorship duration would span the student’s entire course of study which would be around 4-6 years depending on the course of study.
About the organization – CKF
The Christopher Kolade Foundation (CKF) was founded in 1997, as a platform through which its founder, Dr. Christopher Kolade, would continue to make contributions to the development of Nigeria. The Foundation focuses on Education as its key strategic initiative in order to reach their vision of a Nigeria that is known for educational excellence, ethical leadership and interfaith harmony.
Particular attention is given to promoting Girl-Child Education (specifically science, technology, engineering, mathematics, music and agriculture), Leadership and Governance Education, Christian and Theological Education and Education in Inter-faith Relations. The Foundation also aims to make contributions in improving public education and literacy levels in Nigeria.
Scholarship value
Scholarship winners will receive N300,000/annum and is estimated to cover tuition, books, and a modest monthly living stipend.
Eligiblity
To be eligible, u must meet the following requirments:
- Nigerian female
- Graduate of a public secondary school
- Have verifiable proof of admission into a Nigerian public tertiary institution
