The Foursquare National Scholarship Board is an all-inclusive and merit based scholarship program initiated by the wonderful team of Foursquare Gospel Church. The scholarship will cover full expenses of Nigerian student’s education ensuring that they can focus on their studies and reach their potential. Through this initiative the Church reinforces it’s commitment to providing equal opportunities to individuals across every ethnic group.

Foursquare Gospel Church

The Foursquare Gospel Church is a church known for its emphasis on faith, evangelism, and the power of the Holy Spirit. Founded in 1923 by Aimee Semple McPherson, the church has grown into a global network with millions of followers, including a strong presence in Nigeria. Rooted from the Church’s commitment to supporting people of all backgrounds, the Foursquare Scholarship program was introduced. This wonderful opportunity is open to Foursquare members and students from diverse ethnic backgrounds across Nigeria.

Scholarship award

Provided you maintain the required CGPA, the Foursquare National Scholarship will cover full expenses of applicant’s education including:

  • Tuition
  • Accommodation
  • Living expenses

Eligibility

To qualify, Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Financial Need
    • Applicants must be indigent, with verifiable proof of financial inability to meet educational expenses.
  2. Institutional Eligibility
    • Only students enrolled in Federal or State universities, polytechnics, and other recognized tertiary institutions are eligible to apply.
    • Secondary school applicants must be enrolled in a State-owned institution.
    • Students of McPherson University are also eligible to apply.
  3. Academic Requirements
    • Undergraduate Applicants: Must have valid admission into a Federal or State tertiary institution.
    • Students in 200 level and above must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5/5 (Second Class Upper Division) and provide a duly certified statement of results.
    • Secondary School Applicants: Only students in Senior Secondary School (SS1 – SS3) are eligible. Must have a minimum cumulative percentage of 80% in their previous academic session.
  4. Renewal Criteria
    • Undergraduate awardees must maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.5/5 (Second Class Upper Division) for scholarship renewal.
    • Secondary school awardees must maintain a minimum cumulative percentage of 70% to continue receiving the scholarship.
  5. Age limit
    • Undergraduate applicants must not be older than 27 years.
    • Secondary school applicants must not be older than 20 years

How to apply

Applications are done online via a form that can be found in their website (linked below). Applicant’s need to attach a passport photograph as well as the following documents:

  • Scholarship motivation letter
  • WAEC result (for fresh undergraduates only)
  • JAMB and Post JAMB results (for fresh undergraduates only)
  • Admission letter (for fresh undergraduates only)
  • Result of previous academic session (for current undergraduates)
  • Birth Certificate

Successful written test candidates will be invited for oral interviews with an independent panel, with their decisions being final.

Application deadline

The final day to apply is March 25th, 2025.
