The Laurentian University scholarship is a merit‑based award designed to recognize and support high achieving international undergraduate students at the university of Laurentian. Laurentian University, officially Laurentian University of Sudbury, is a Canadaian public university incorporated in 1960 and offers a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. The scholarship is up to $60,000 and renewable for up to three additional years (or until graduation) provided students remain full‑time and maintain a minimum average (usually 80 % or equivalent) each year.
Eligibility
Interested applicants must meet the following criteria to apply for the Laurentian University Scholarship:
- Students entering a first undergraduate degree (i.e., cannot already hold a prior degree) for the international award
- Must be full time and registered in the Fall/Winter semesters (usually a full course load) to qualify
- For the top tier (90%+ up to $60K award): Your admission average must fall within that range. For lower tier (80%‑89.9% up to $40K).
Renewal condititons
- To renew the scholarship, students must have studied full time in the previous academic year (30 credits – of which 24 credits must have been taken in the Fall/Winter term) – (the academic year is defined as May to April of each year for scholarship purposes) and attained a minimum average of 80% (GPA = 7.5).
