NYU: Annual Global diversity scholarship

The Global Diversity Scholarship is one of the efforts of School of professional studies at NYU to ensure access to global education at SPS NYU. Recipients of the scholarship will receive a grant that covers the entire program fee for the GFI in which they are enrolled.

New York University – School of professional studies (SPS)

The SPS at NYU (New York University) Global Diversity Scholarship is designed to help students with financial need participate in SPS Global Field Intensive (GFI) courses during the J-term, spring, or summer semesters. By creating opportunities for students who may not otherwise be able to participate in a global experience, the Global Diversity Scholarship is one effort in their broader mission of ensuring access to global education at SPS. Recipients of the scholarship will receive a grant that covers the entire program fee for the GFI in which they are enrolled.

The NYU School of Professional Studies is impacting and shaping the future of work and careers. The School is a professional education powerhouse which offers the Global diversity scholarship as one of their ways of preparing future leaders with a range of undergraduate and graduate degree programs.

Scholarship benefits

Winners will receive a grant to cover the program activities fee of the GFI course in which you have enrolled (does not cover tuition).

Selected recipients are expected to:

  1. Attend and participate in pre- and post-travel scholarship recipient receptions.
  2. Provide a brief GFI experience testimonial upon return from your trip.

Eligiblity

The following are requirements applicants must follow to be eligible:

  • Currently enrolled at least part-time at SPS
  • In good academic standing
  • Matriculated SPS graduate student or DAUS undergraduate student
  • Have applied/enrolled in or immediately plan to apply/enroll in an SPS GFI course

Application requirements

Applicants will be expected to provide the following with their online application:

  • NYU Unofficial Transcript
  • Essay
  • Resume/CV
  • Statement of financial impact

Application deadline

For Summer 2025 Global Field Intensives:

Opens: January 6, 2025

Deadline: February 3, 2025

Decision Notification Period: February 21, 2025
