Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong Education Support Initiative – launched in 2022 is aimed at driving and promoting educational development and advancement in Cross River State with focus on supporting undergraduate and Postgraduate students of Cross River South at Federal and State Universities, Colleges of Education and Health Technology and School of Nursing. Since it’s launch, Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong’s Education Support Initiative has recorded a huge success as over 1,700 students across the Seven LGAs in Cross River Southern Senatorial District has benefited from the initiative.
Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong
Asuquo Ekpenyong is currently the Senator Representing Cross River South in the 10th National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria spanning 2023 – 2027. Born on August 25, 1985 Asuquo Ekpenyong attended Kings College, Lagos from where he proceeded to the University of Reading in the United Kingdom, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. He immediately capped it with a Master’s Degree in International Banking and Financial Services earning the only Distinction of his graduating year at the University of Reading, thereafter, he attended the prestigious Harvard Business School. Asuquo Ekpenyong is a loyal and dependable member of All Progressive Congress APC, he is a Member of the APC National Youth Lobby Group as well as the Chairman – Mobilization and Finance Committee, Cross River State APC Youth Lobby Group.
Scholarship benefit
- In 2022: 200 students were granted ₦50,000 each (A total of ₦10 million)
- In 2024: Approx. 400 students were granted ₦50,000 each (A total of ₦20 million)
- In 2025: 1,000 students were granted ₦100,000 each (A total of ₦100 million)
Eligibility
Interested applicants must meet the following conditions in order to be eligible:
- Undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled in federal or state universities, Colleges of Education, Health Technology, or Schools of Nursing.
- Must be resident in Cross River South Senatorial District.
