Eligibility criteria for the Daughters of the American Revolution Scholarship

  • Citizenship: Applicants must be citizens of the United States.
  • Education: Applicants must attend or plan to attend an accredited college or university within the United States.
  • Multi-Year Commitment: Multi-year scholarships, renewable for up to four years, require consecutive years of attendance.
  • Selection Basis: Awards are granted based on academic excellence, dedication to the chosen field of study, financial need, or other criteria specific to certain scholarships.
  • Restrictions: Recipients must deposit awards with their respective educational institutions, with any unused portions returned to DAR.
  • Limitation: Each applicant is eligible to receive only one national scholarship from the DAR Scholarship Committee.

Required documents

To support their application, candidates must furnish the following documents:

  • High School Students: High school transcripts, along with college transcripts if applicable.
  • Home-Schooled Students: Transcripts for grades eight through twelve.
  • College Undergraduates: College transcripts.
  • Graduate Students: Undergraduate and graduate school transcripts.
  • Medical Students: College/university and medical school transcripts.

Application deadline

The current application cycle for the Daughters of the American Revolution Scholarship has concluded. However, prospective applicants can mark their calendars for the upcoming academic year’s application window, spanning from November 1, 2024, through January 31, 2025, closing at 11:59 pm (Hawaii Time).
