Requirements of National Eagle Scout Association Academic Scholarship

To be eligible for the National Eagle Scout Association Academic Scholarship, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Membership: Applicants must be registered members of the National Eagle Scout Association (NESA).
  • Academic Level: Eagle Scouts can apply for NESA scholarships from their senior year of high school through their junior year in an undergraduate program, or by the halfway point of their associate degree program or skilled trade program.
  • One-Time Award: Recipients are eligible for the scholarship only once.
  • Enrollment: Candidates must be enrolled as full-time students in accredited educational institutions, pursuing academic degrees or skilled trade programs.
  • Exclusions: NESA scholarships are not available to students attending U.S. military academies or graduate students pursuing master’s or doctoral degrees.

Application method

Initiating the application process is straightforward:

  1. Accessing the Portal: Click on the designated “CLICK HERE TO APPLY” button to access the NESA scholarship portal. This is the sole method for submitting applications.
  2. New Applicants: If it’s your first time on the portal, select “New applicant” to commence the scholarship application process. Existing BSA IDs and passwords won’t grant access; new applicants must use this option.
  3. Portal Account Creation: Upon selecting “New applicant,” create your portal account to begin the application. You can save and return to your application for updates.
  4. Application Link: Save the link provided upon application creation to facilitate future updates. Avoid using the initial access button to prevent duplicate applications.
  5. Troubleshooting: In case of application visibility issues, ensure you access the portal using the provided link to avoid creating duplicate applications.

Application deadline

For the current year, applications are closed. Prospective applicants are advised to check back on December 1st when the portal reopens for the next cycle.
