The Toriola Stephen Excellence Scholarship is one of the academic support initiatives hosted by SaveSomeone Charity, designed to help high‑achieving undergraduate students in Nigeria who face financial challenges. SaveSomeone Charity is a Nigerian non‑profit organisation founded around 2016 that works to assist vulnerable individuals and communities. Its mission covers multiple areas such as food relief (through a food bank), healthcare support (helping cover medical bills for those who cannot afford care), academic scholarships, and entrepreneurship training for students. The Toriola Stephen Excellence scholarship usually awards ₦50,000 to selected undergraduates who meet the eligibility requirements. The goal is to recognise academic excellence and support such students so they can continue their studies without undue financial burden.
Eligibility
Interested applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Priority will be given to applicants who are orphans or have a single parent who is a widow or widower.
- Applicant must be an undergraduate, enrolled in a higher institution approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
- Applicant must have a minimum GPA/CGPA of 4.0 on a 5.0 scale, or 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
- Other grading scales or percentages should be converted to the 5.0 scale for reference.
