Yaqoob Scholarships was created through a great partnership between Shirinie, a renowned people welfare organization, and Canadian-based DataSkillz. These scholarships are specifically designed to provide crucial support to deserving students from Ghana, enabling them to upskill and reskill in the fields of Data Science, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). With generous support from Dr. Tayyab Qazi, CEO of Shirinie.org, and Dr. Junaid Qazi, President and Director of DataSkillz, the Yaqoob Scholarships aim to unlock the potential of Ghanaian students and pave the way for a brighter future.The Yaqoob Scholarships signify a commitment to nurturing talent and empowering students in Ghana to thrive in the dynamic world of Data Science, Machine Learning, and AI.

Shirinie

Shirinie is a nonprofit organization, founded in 2019 with the mission/slogan of “Spreading Happiness” under the vision of “Creating a World without deprivation for Kids” by helping Necessitous, Needy & Underprivileged Children.

Their mission involves distributing joy and providing holistic support to ensure better futures for children in need. They encourage community involvement and offer opportunities for volunteers to contribute to their cause. Shirinie aims to create positive change through various initiatives and partnerships aimed at enhancing the well-being of children

DataSkillz

DataSkillz is a company dedicated to bridge the skills gap due to the rapid advancements in technology which has resulted in challenges for organizations in sourcing qualified talent.

The Yaqoob Scholarship’s mission

Scholarship benefits

The selected winners will have access to the following:

  1. Five 500CAD scholarships.

2. Customized training programs.

3. Educational resources.

Eligibility

The scholarships are specifically intended for students who hold Ghana citizenship, pursuing education or careers in Data Science, Machine Learning, or AI.

Application process

To apply for the Yaqoob Scholarships, students must complete the online application form, which can be accessed through their website.

Along with the application, students will be required to submit the following:

  • Personal Information.
  • Contact details.
  • educational background.
  • Any relevant certifications or achievements.
  • Statement of Purpose: A written statement describing their passion for Data Science, Machine Learning, or AI, and how the scholarship will contribute to their educational and career goals.
  • Academic Records: Transcripts or any other supporting documents that showcase their academic performance and achievements.
  • Documentation: Students from underprivileged backgrounds may need to provide evidence of their financial need, such as income certificates or proof of family income.
