Discover bank know that going to college is a process that starts long before you need to take out a loan and we understand that navigating that process is complex and often daunting. That’s why College Covered was created. They wanted to simplify the information and empower college-bound families with the know-how to plan and pay for college with ease and confidence.
In 2017, Discover Student Loans launched CollegeCovered.com—a site designed to guide high school students and their parents through all stages of the college process, from conquering the college essay and application to choosing a college.
Funding
Twelve prizes; One awarded per Entry Period. A $5,000 check made payable to the eligible institution of higher education as reflected on the winner’s Declaration. A winner forfeits the prize if they do not attend a participating college/university within one year of notification/winner confirmation. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $5,000.
Eligibility
Applicants who are eligible:
- Only residents of the fifty United States, the District of Columbia, and the US territories.
- Must be sixteen years old at the time of entry.
- (a) Must be a high school senior student, including a student who attends an alternative school or is home schooled.
- (b) A student who has earned a GED or equivalent.
- (c) An undergraduate or graduate student.
- A parent or legal guardian of a student that meets the requirements of a, b or c. If a parent or legal guardian enters the Sweepstakes, they agree to enter on behalf of their eligible child/legal ward; if named a potential winner, the child or legal ward will be deemed the potential winner and granted the scholarship once eligibility has been confirmed.
- Entrants must also be enrolled at least half-time in a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree program or a graduate degree program at an eligible school within one year of winner notification/confirmation or the parent/legal guardians of a student that satisfies this eligibility requirement.
- Employees of Discover Products, Inc., Merkle Inc., and their parent and affiliate companies as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings and children) and household members of such employees are not eligible.
Participation constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and Sponsor’s and Administrator’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Sweepstakes. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.
Application process
During the Promotion Period, visit https://scholarship.collegecovered.com and follow the instructions to complete and submit the registration form including a valid email address. By entering this Sweepstakes, you will be opted in to receive email marketing messages sent by Sponsor’s third party service provider. However, if you have previously opted-out of receiving email marketing messages from Sponsor, you will not be added back to the email list. You automatically will receive one entry into the applicable Entry Period drawing.
Application deadline
The Sweepstakes begins on February 1, 2023 at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”), ends on January 31, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. ET (the “Promotion Period”), and consists of twelve monthly entry periods (each an “Entry Period”).
