The Namibia Environmental Investment Fund (EIF) scholarships is part of EIF’s commitment to promoting both socio-economic growth and environmental sustainability across the country. The organization offers undergraduate and postgraduate bursaries to Namibian youth aged 18 to 35, supporting studies within Namibia, across the SADC region, and internationally. These bursaries specifically target fields that advance sustainability, environmental management, and climate action, equipping the next generation of leaders with the skills and knowledge to address Namibia’s pressing environmental and development challenges.

Environmental Investment Fund

The Environmental Investment Fund or EIF of Namibia is a government supported organization dedicated to promoting sustainable development by funding initiatives that benefit both the environment and socio-economic growth. It provides bursaries and scholarships for Namibian youth to pursue studies in fields such as environmental management, sustainability, and climate action. Additionally EIF supports community projects, research, and capacity-building programs that address environmental conservation, renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and climate solutions, aiming to equip individuals and communities with the knowledge and resources to drive Namibia’s sustainable development forward.

Eligibility criteria

To be considered for the EIF scholarship applicants must meet the follow conditions:

  • Namibian citizenship
  • Grade 12 Certificate (or provisional results)
  • Academic progress report if already enrolled at a university, technikon, or university of technology
  • Provisional acceptance at a recognised higher education institution accredited by the Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA)
  • Preference will be given to candidates from marginalised communities.
  • Applicants with disabilities should indicate the nature of their disability on the application form.
