KAUST Microelectronics Winter Camp (MEWC) is a fully funded six week research internship designed for undergraduate and master’s students interested in microelectronics and related fields. Taking place from January 4 to February 11, 2027, at the KAUST campus in Thuwal, Saudi Arabia.
The programme gives participants the opportunity to gain hands-on research experience, work alongside researchers, and explore current developments in microelectronics. As a fully funded programme, selected participants will also receive financial support throughout the camp, allowing them to focus on their research and learning experience.
About the program
Hosted by King Abdullah University of Science and Technology’s Computer, Electrical and Mathematical Sciences and Engineering (CEMSE) division – the program lets participants lead hands-on research projects in microelectronics and related engineering fields under top faculty mentorship, with no application or participation fees.

Eligibility
Requirements to be eligible:
- Senior undergraduates, master’s students, or recent graduates in electrical engineering, computer engineering, microelectronics, or related fields
- Minimum CGPA of 3.5/4.0 or equivalent
- Excellent English language proficiency
- Strong interest in research work
- Must pass an interview with KAUST faculty and administration
