The Mastercard Foundation associates program connects talented young people with 12-month internships across Africa. The program works through partnerships with external organizations and Foundation partner organizations to support Associates in developing leadership, employability, and entrepreneurship skills following graduation.
The Mastercard Foundation
The Mastercard Foundation was established in 2006 through the generosity of Mastercard when it became a public company. The Foundation is an independent organization and its policies, operations, and program decisions are determined by the Board of Directors and Leadership team. The foundation’s mission is to create opportunities for youth to learn, grow, and transition into employment or entrepreneurship through programs like scholarships, skills training, and partnerships with institutions. The foundation’s goals center on reducing poverty, promoting inclusive economic growth, and empowering a new generation of leaders who can drive sustainable development in their communities.

Eligibility
To be considered for the associates program, applicants must:
- Be a recent graduates with 0–2 years of work experience
- Young African seeking meaningful early career experience
- Be aged 18 to 35 years

- Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program Alumni
