The NDDC local master’s scholarship is an annual scheme designed to postgrad students with the requisite knowledge and skills, thereby equipping them for effective participation in the Federal Government’s Local Content Programme. The scholarship aims to foster global competitiveness by supporting academic excellence and professional development in key disciplines.
NDDC scholarships
In a continued effort to enhance human resource development in the Niger Delta region, scholarships established by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) are meant to enhance human capacity in the Niger Delta. It provides funding for Nigerian students from the region to pursue Master’s degrees locally or abroad, aligning with the Federal Government’s Local Content initiative.
Scholarship award
The scholarship consists of:
- Full tuition fee coverage
- Travel costs
- Support for study and research
- Accommodation allowance
- Living expenses/stipend
Eligibility
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must be Nigerian as well as meeting the following criteria:
- Be indigenes of the Niger Delta Region
- Age limit: 40 and below
- Hold an HND (Upper Credit) plus a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)
- Hold a First Class, Second Class Upper, or Lower Division Bachelor’s Degree
Eligible fields
Interested applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in any of the following programmes:
- Engineering
- Agricultural Sciences
- Law
- Humanities
- Geosciences
- Medical Sciences
- Environmental Sciences
- Management and Social Sciences
- Information technology
