NWAG Scholarship program for Nigerians

NWAG Scholarship

The NWAG scholarship is a program initiated by the Nigerian Women Association of Georgia as part of their mission to empowering women, youth, and children through education and cultural enrichment. This year, NWAG will award 111 scholarships, each valued at $300, to deserving students across Nigeria. It is only open to female undergraduates enrolled in Nigerian universities.

The Nigerian Women Association of Georgia (NWAG)

The Nigerian Women Association of Georgia is a non-profit organization founded to serve both local communities in Georgia and Nigeria. NWAG focuses on empowerment, cultural enrichment, and education of women, youth, and children, fostering togetherness and excellence in collective pursuits.

How to apply

Applicants must download the application form provided in their website (linked below) and submit the following information:

  1. Proof of state of origin
  2. Two letters of recommendation from any two of the following:
    • Pastor or imam
    • Village head
    • Local government chairperson
    • University lecturer or HOD (Head of department)
  3. Photocopy of your current university student identification.
  4. A current photograph of yourself.
  5. An explanation of why you need and should receive the scholarship (Not more than one-half typed page).
  6. A typewritten, double-spaced, two-page essay on: “Analyze how technology can be leveraged to address gender-based violence (GBV) in Nigeria, including facilitating reporting, access to services, and creating safe spaces for survivors. Evaluate current interventions and propose innovative solutions for ensuring timely and effective assistance for GBV survivors.”

Application deadline

The application deadline is on April 30th, 2025.
