The ScottishPower scholarship for master’s students is a key programme of the ScottishPower Foundation – a charity established in 2013. The foundation supports charitable initiatives across Britain and aims to promote academic excellence and enhance the employability of young people in future-focused sectors. The scholarship is open to graduates and final-year students, covering full tuition fees and providing a generous living stipend of £14,400. In addition to financial support, the programme also offers opportunities to boost professional and career prospects upon completion of the degree.
Scholarship benefits
Winners of this scholarship can expect to receive the following:
- Payment of enrolment costs at the university
- A monthly payment of £1,200 per month
- Company mentor
- Assistance with identifying an industry related project to assist with their academic studies
- Exciting career prospects
Additionally, the winners are expected to complete the following in return of receiving the scholarship:
- Promote career opportunities available within the company
- Act as a STEM ambassador for the industry
- Introduce future scholarship applicants to the scheme
- Support any recruitment activities agreed on campus/virtually
Eligibility
To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements
- Be a graduate or a final-year student
- Applicants must be in possession of, or expect to receive, a Bachelor with Honours at a minimum 2:1 (or equivalent) or Master’s degree from a recognized university on submission of the application.
- Submit an application to the UK University they wish to attend. Applications submitted by students who have not submitted an application will be rejected.
- Not receive any remuneration, wages or be in receipt of any scholarship, financial aid or other award of a similar nature from institutions and public or private foundations during the period that the scholarship is awarded for.
- Have not been previously awarded a scholarship by ScottishPower, the ScottishPower Foundation or any of the other companies within the Iberdrola group.

How to apply
To apply, applicants should first submit an application to any of the participating universities (listed in their website – linked below) for postgraduate admission into the eligible courses. Then they can proceed to the ScottishPower scholarship portal to apply for the scholarship.
