The Oando Foundation Green Youth Upskilling Program (GYUP) is a forward-looking initiative powered by The Oando Foundation, with Nigeria Climate Innovation Center as key implementing partner. It is designed to prepare young Nigerians for emerging opportunities in the green economy. As climate change and environmental challenges reshape the global workforce, this program equips youth with practical, future-focused skills that promote sustainability, innovation, and economic inclusion.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this program, applicants must:

  1. Be a Nigerian citizen
  2. Be between 20–35 years old
  3. Have completed at least secondary education (SSCE)
  4. Demonstrate a strong interest in green and technical fields
  5. Be fully available to participate in the program, including all virtual or physical sessions
  6. Submit a complete application with all required documents before the deadline
  7. (Optional but advantageous): Have exposure to green or technical work through volunteering, self-learning, internships, or informal jobs

  3. A statement of interest (max 300 words) detailing:
  4. Why you want to be part of the Green Youth Upskilling Program
  5. Any exposure to green/technical work (formal or informal)
  6. Your career aspirations after completing the training
  7. Optional supporting materials such as photos, reference letters, or certificates to demonstrate passion and initiative
