The Abdulkabir Aliu Foundation awards scholarships under 3 categories meant for Nigerian undergraduate and postgraduate Muslims.

About the foundation

The Abdulkabir Aliu Foundation scholarship is the initiative of Alhaji (Engr.) Abdulkabir Aliu, the CEO of Matrix Energy Group. From humble beginnings of just 70 brilliant Students in Six Federal Universities at inception in 2014, the Foundation now accepts applications from Students in 13 Federal Universities across the Nation.

The mission

The Abdulkabir Aliu Foundation believes that good knowledge is guide by values, and by a thorough academic program and dedication to building character, they plan to shape disciplined and well-mannered Muslim students. Moreover they’ll use the leadership team and board of trustees – two of the foundation’s greatest strengths, to bring together informed and engaged individuals to play as role models for their students.

Scholarship benefit

Winners are awarded an annual scholarship stipend of 150,000 to 250,000 Naira.

Application

There are 3 categories of scholarships with their individual requirements:

  1. Undergraduate scholarship for orphans and vulnerable students at the University of Maiduguri.
  2. Undergraduate scholarship for students in qualifying Federal Universities.
  3. Undergraduate and Postgraduate scholarship for students of Ede origin.

Eligibility

The following are the conditions to be met for each category in order to apply:

Undergraduate scholarship for orphans and vulnerable students at the University of Maiduguri

  • Be a bona fide student of the University of Maiduguri.
  • Maintain a minimum of 2.5/5.0 CGPA (2nd Class Lower Division).
  • Be of good character.

Undergraduate scholarship for students in qualifying Federal Universities

  • Must be a bona fide student in any of the under listed universities:
    • University of Ibadan (UI).
    • Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (OAU).
    • University of Lagos, Akoka (UNILAG).
    • Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).
  • Maintain a minimum of 3.5/5.0 CGPA (2nd Class Upper Division).
  • Be of good character.

Undergraduate and Postgraduate scholarship for students of Ede origin

  • Be of good character.
  • Graduate with a minimum of 3.5/5.0 CGPA (2nd Class Upper Division) from a Federal University in Nigeria.
  • Be a bona fide student of a Federal University in Nigeria.
  • Maintain a minimum of 2.5/5.0 CGPA (2nd Class Lower Division).

Note: Successful applicants may be required to write an aptitude test at a venue and time to be communicated.
