Water Association and Cranfield University Excellence Scholarship

Cranfield Water Science Institute believes that a new generation of highly skilled professionals is urgently needed to deliver sustainable and resilient responses to the challenges of increasing water stress. In response to this, they are in collaboration with the International Water Association (IWA), offering up to 15 scholarships across our MSc courses in Advanced Water Management, Water & Sanitation for Development, and Water & Wastewater Engineering.

Those awarded the IWA and Cranfield University Excellence Scholarships will have 50% of their fees (at overseas or UK rates) paid and will also benefit from enhanced engagement with the IWA Young Professionals programme, providing excellent opportunities to develop a global peer network. The scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis and you can apply only once you have been offered a place on one of the three eligible courses. Successful applicants will have a strong academic or work experience record and will be effective communicators.

Funding

50% of tuition fees (UK £5,955 / Overseas £13,290).

Eligibility

Citizens of any country can apply for a scholarship, but you must be applying to study full-time on an eligible master’s course and hold a relevant first class or 2:1 honours degree, or demonstrate significant practical experience and achievements in water or an aligned sector. English requirement same as course entry requirements.

Application process

You must have an offer of admission on an eligible full-time master’s course before applying for the scholarship.

You must complete the online application form and upload a short written submission (500 words) about one of the Sustainable Development Goals. Please explain in your submission how you think this SDG is best delivered and what new tools, technologies or innovative interventions are available to deliver it.

Once you have your six-digit Cranfield application number use the link in the website to complete your application.

Application deadline

Applications for 2023 have passed, but 2024 applications will be on the website when available.
